History of BFM

Merchavim-Israel was founded by London-born Israeli Mike Prashker in 1998 and has always enjoyed a close relationship with the United Kingdom. Prestigious private donors, the UJIA, and the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, have all generously supported activities. Long-standing educational and professional relations have been forged with British agencies and NGOs working in related fields.

Against this background and Merchavim's measured achievements in hundreds of Israeli schools, together with growing concern about Israel's deep internal divisions, the founding trustees moved to establish BFM.

BFM is a UK registered charity, number: 1142809.
