We are exposing over 200 religious teachers and school principals to our shared citizenship concept through various training programs held across the country:
Teacher-Training: An increased number of teacher-training workshops are being conducted and evaluated for religious kindergarten teachers and junior-high and high school teachers nationally, based on our new Jewish-religious teaching packs, including encounters with representatives from groups of "other" Israelis (secular Jews and Arab-Israelis).
Curriculum Development: Our new Religious teaching pack is being marketed and distributed in partnership with the Ministry of Education, specifically to Ministry of Education religious district inspectors and religious junior-high schools nationally.
New Publications: 500 copies of Merchavim's newly-published collection of articles on issues of citizenship and identity, entitled 'As a Fellow Citizen' – Issues of Shared Israeli Citizenship from a Religious Perspective, is being distributed to religious educators and academic institutions.
Staff: Rabbi Efrati has left Merchavim to take on the role of Head of Yeshivat Hesder in Efrat, having led our Religious-Zionist activity over the past fours years. His position as Head of the Jewish-Religious School Stream has been replaced by Ruth Madar, an experienced religious educational facilitator who has been working with Merchavim since 2008.
